A wolf’s fur is really important. It helps them survive the harsh elements they face in their environments. But it's not always the color gray.

Why are they called Gray Wolves? 

More than half of North American birds migrate. This is when birds move locations from where they inhabit during the summer to where they inhabit during the winter. Sometimes birds cover extremely long distances, like from Canada to South America. Others may only travel a few states south, and some even just move from a higher elevation to a lower elevation. 

Many birds migrate, but why do they do so? And how do they know where to go?

These birds hang out in the Arctic tundra. They are white with dark brown markings – this is what helps us identify them. While both males and females can have these markings, females tend to have more of them. Their markings are usually thicker and appear on their bodies with more frequency than males.  Males also tend to lose those markings and become more fully white as they age.

Have you ever believed something about an animal, only to find out it wasn’t true? Sometimes, depending on how we see animals portrayed in cartoons or movies or books, we can think one thing about an animal when it turns out the reality is very different.
