Science is so important for children.

These owls are very good at laying low and not being discovered.  They live in forests in North America and for the winter, they’ll migrate to the central and southern areas of the United States.

Snowy owls are beautiful birds of prey, and one of the largest of the owl family in the entire world. They breed in the far north and migrate south during winter months to extend their feeding range.

Children learn in a variety of ways. Some prefer auditory learning, tactile learning, or kinesthetic learning, while others learn more easily through visuals.

Spotted Owls are medium owls with dark brown feathers and white spots. They also have striking dark eyes.

Because of their different diet, pellets from Horned Owls are more challenging to identify prey.  The pellets are chalkier, more porous and more fragile than Barn Owl pellets.

They stand between 6 and 7 inches tall, weigh only around 2-3 ounces, and have a wingspan of 15 inches.  Their feathers are brown and white and they have yellow eyes.

Short-Eared Owls stand between 13. 5 and 17 inches tall with a wingspan of 33.
