Are Owl Pellets Safe to Dissect?

Owl pellets are regurgitated material of everything that an owl can’t digest – fur, feathers, and bones of their prey. These pellets are a great dissection tool to help students learn problem-solving skills, dissection, and the skeletal structure of animals.

When do owlets leave the nest?

How quickly owls develop after they hatch depends on the species of owl. Usually though, a few weeks after hatching, there’s a time where the baby owls will walk around the nest or climb onto a nearby branch.

Are Owls Territorial?

Are owls territorial?  Some are and some aren't. For example, Barn Owls aren't that territorial, which is why you can put several nest boxes on a single piece of land and have multiple Barn Owls in the area.
