STEM Challenge: Map the Owl’s Night Flight

The prairie night glowed silver under the rising moon. Lady Eleanor Bones stretched her wings beside Sherlock, while Sir Whetson adjusted his feathers with pride.
“Tonight,” whispered Sherlock, “the sky is our map.”
The three owls soared above golden fields, circled quiet barns, and drifted over winding streams. To the untrained eye, it looked like wandering. But Eleanor knew better. “Every turn,” she said, “is guided by food, shelter, and safe passage. Our paths are invisible threads, weaving the prairie together.”

Then Eleanor turned to you.
“Now it’s your turn. Take a map of your own town. Mark the fields, the rooftops, the rivers. Where would we rest? Where would we hunt? Where would we watch from the shadows?”

Sir Whetson hooted softly. “Compare your guesses with what real barn owls choose. You’ll see how every path tells the story of survival, balance, and the secret highways of the night.”
