In a few days you’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve and many of you will be making resolutions for 2021. You’ll be looking both internally and externally to see what you’d like to change and what you’d like to maintain. As you do so, we thought it’d be interesting to chat about the meaning of owls as spirit animals to help decide on your resolutions.
We’ve spoken about the mythology behind owls before and how they were deemed both as good and bad omens. When it comes to looking at them from a spiritual perspective, their meanings shift.
Owls as spirit animals represent:
Some traditions teach that owls serve as a reminder for us to look within and trust ourselves and be true to who we are. Their association with death actually represents change here, meaning that a transition in life is about to occur. These birds can also be a reminder to take a step back and look at what’s around us.
We can learn a lot from owls. Just like how they use their incredible senses to snatch up their prey while hunting, we can use our own intuition, wisdom, and patience to reevaluate where we want to be in this new year and use our skills to reach those goals!

Owls, through just doing what they do, help out farmers. They protect crops from being overwhelmed by pests. How can we help others through our own actions this year? They also listen to their instincts. How can we trust ourselves more?
