Wolves are incredibly important carnivores. Although they’ve been considered dangerous by many and have been hunted for centuries, wolves actually have a very positive impact on their environments. Their presence helps species around them thrive, as well as keeps vegetation and rivers intact.

But what else is there? Come along on a deep dive with us into the different wolf species, how they differ from coyotes, and what’s being done to help the dwindling numbers of these carnivores.

We take a visit to Wolf Haven International and chat about:

  • How coyotes have thrived in the absence of wolves

  • What sets Red Wolves apart

  • Why it’s so important to save Red Wolves

  • Size and diet differences between Gray Wolves, Arctic Wolves, and Mexican Gray Wolves

  • The work that Wolf Haven International does to help wolves
